I’m still having so much fun going through and processing shots from my last couple of trips out to California, Nevada and Utah. The night we spent at Mono Lake was just insane. A rim fire lit sunset, followed by an incredible clear and visible Milky Way. Mono Lake makes for a seriously awesome foreground for shooting the Milky Way. There were so many tufas in the foreground that lighting them all was quite a challenge.I created this exposure, framing these two large tufas with the Milky Way in the middle, and noticed that all the tufas in the background were silhouetted. I actually loved how it turned out. They two in the front were lit by Mr.shining a flashlight on a tufa behind him just out of the frame to the right, causing the reflection of the light from that tufa to light these two. Hope that makes sense :-).
