I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface of the images I took during my visit to Zion National Park a few weeks ago. We simply could not have asked for better conditions to shoot in. The clearing storms on the horizon provided for incredible light and a very interesting skyline. The monsoon rains that had come through earlier that day caused flash flood conditions in the park, which caused the Virgin River to overflow and put on quite a show for us. A couple of the trees were just starting to change to their fall color outfits which made me quite happy :-).Post processing was all done in Photoshop on this one. Fairly straight forward; just blending an exposure for the sky with and exposure for the foreground. Then some selective levels, saturation and curve layers to focus on the trees, the sky, the rocks and the river. And of course a bit of detail and noise work form Nik Software.
